Description/Abstract:
In the main body of the report we have enumerated the various signals emitted by a nuclear weapon which can form the basis of detection. A system using scintillation counters to detect prompt x-rays and thermal radiation has been considered previously by Bethe and Latter ("B-L system"). We describe here in some detail a system based on direct photomultiplier detection of the thermal radiation.
