Description/Abstract:
In APN 21 we estimated the total number of pulses to fly Mars mission neglecting solar navigation. This omission and the presence of computational errors in the code employed yielded incorrect conclusions. To obtain some feeling for the important parameters of solar navigation we have first investigated some of the properties of Hohmann transfer between Earth and Mars. The definitions and algebra of this mission are given. The orbit code described in APN 21 has been modified to accelerate rocket up to total energy given by equations of Appendix A.
