Description/Abstract:
It is important in the study of reactors for the production of power only to be able to estimate the fraction of the fuel that may be burned up before it must be replaced. An estimate of the expected changes in reactivity as a function of conversion ratio, enrichment and integrated flux has been made on the basis of a homogeneous model using cross sections apropos of 0.025 ev neutrons. The results appear in Figs. 1, 2 and 3 for enrichments of 0.0071, 0.010 and 0.020, respectively, and for various conversion ratios.
