Description/Abstract:
The behavior of the reactor outlet temperature at the start of the active control period was investigated to determine if an over temperature condition exists. Two different sensor cases were considered. Case I is a study of the present temperature sensor switch control. Case II is a study of a possible converter current switch control. The following factors were considered in the studies. 1. The time constant of the sensor switches. 2. The thermal and nuclear time constants of the system. 3. The relatively large time constants of system components such as the radiation shield. 4. The Peltier heating of the converter.
