Description/Abstract:
Test data are presented for a number of 24" x 24" x 5-7/8" filters. "B" flute spacers, because of the larger paper area, will result in a higher efficiency and a longer life filter than when "A" flute spacers are used. Tests show that the paper filters are very inflammable when in operation but by properly engineering the installation this potential hazard can be overcome. A successful paper mill run was made on August 10, 1949, and produced paper with average pressure drop of approximately 100 mm of water and DOP penetration of approximately 0.1 at a paper face velocity of 28 ft/min. A program to test the efficiency of paper and various filter media with atmospheric dust is under way.
