Description/Abstract:
The problem on the nature of the impurities which are found in some samples of polonium which was introduced in October, 1948 and was interrupted by the moving and setting up at the Mound Laboratory is being continued. The Electronics Section has built a high voltage instrument for supplying the needed excitation source in an emission spectrum. The series of micropipettes used in the checking of the Alpha, Simpson, and Logac counters against the calorimeter were recalibrated. The method used to check calibration was by a standard potentiometric microtitration procedure.
