Description/Abstract:
The estimated performance, compressor air bleed characteristics and exhaust nozzle characteristics of the nuclear JT11D-20 turbo jet engine with a 2000F° lithium radiator are presented in attached Tables I to XI. An advanced flat-plate type radiator is used in order to achieve a 53 inch diameter engine which would fit in the North American Aviation B-70 airplane. The engine and radiator geometry assumed for this performance evaluation are identical to that used in CNLM-2571, for an 1800F° NaK radiator with the proper materials substitution. The discussion contained in CNLM-2571 also pertains to this report.
