Abstract: To accelerate the use of EMSL’s experimental capabilities and expertise by the TES community to address science questions essential to TES programmatic objectives, specifically to “gain a mechanistic understanding of the role of subsurface processes (e.g., microbiology, geochemistry, root/rhizosphere, soil processes) in the terrestrial carbon cycle .”, BER TES program is supporting a 2 year post-doctoral position at EMSL. The post doctoral candidate’s research will accelerate the application, integration, or development of new experimental/modeling techniques to critical knowledge gaps in the C cycle in the rhizosphere as well as develop mechanistic understanding of key processes that impact C cycle through the use of integrative ‘omic and molecular characterization of soil organic matter. The post-doctoral candidate would be supervised by EMSL’s Terrestrial and Subsurface Ecosystems science lead.
