Abstract
The rate of metabolism of L-Dopa in the brain and peripheral tissues was studied by injection of C-14 labelled L-Dopa intravenously and intraventricularly in rats and measuring the labelled CO/sub 2/ expired. It was concluded that the rate of central nervous system decarboxylation of L-Dopa was not significantly different from the rate of peripheral decarboxylation. The significance of the results to the administration of L-Dopa is discussed. (JWP)
