Catalog of solar particle events 1955-1969. Prepared under the auspices of working group 2 of the Inter-Union Commission on Solar-Terrestrial Physics

Abstract

The first part of the Catalog contains only confirmed particle events with >10MeV proton flux in excess of 0.1 proton (cm/sup 2/s ster)/sup -1/ before December 1965 and in excess of 0.01 proton (cm/sup 2/s ster)/sup -1/ since December 1965. 'Confirmed' means that at least two independent measurements indicate the existence of the event. The second part contains data on all flare sources of the particle events in Part 1 which have been marked as certain, probable, or contributing sources. The final part contains maps and a description of selected active regions in which the 142 'certain' flares of Part 1 occurred.
