Major trends in the development of electrical power systems

Abstract

The comparison is made between the USA and the USSR electrical systems and their growth. The author states that USSR is about 35 years behind in the construction of power transmission lines of 22 kV and above. Various graphs of economic developments are presented. It is stated that the work in the near future should be concentrated on 750 kV network and on combining the USSR electric power distribution into a single power system.
