Abstract
By the help of successes achieved in Japan in the control of gastrocarcinoma, tasks, possibilities and limits in X-ray diagnostics are outlined, strategically holding hitherto a key position in the recording of patients with early carcinoma of the stomach. X-ray symptoms, the classification of tumor-finding, X-ray examination-methods, their relation to gastroscopy as well as the radiation dose and problems of economy of X-ray examinations are discussed. On account of the achieved recognition prophylactic examinations are to be concentrated to risk groups (anaemia perniciosa, polyposis ventriculi, late state after gastrectomy, ulcus ventriculi).
