Abstract

The horizontal land was made by burying the valley made by abandoned mine with waste rocks in Okawa Village in Kochi prefecture, and hydroponic cultivation was carried out. Possibility of use of air flow heat energy using the mine ventilation in order to economize and save energy of this cultivation was studied. If continuous green house ventilation is carried using air drawn from tunnel, applicable house temperature and humidity for certain scale of green house was possible to control within constant limit. When warming of 4 green houses from November to April was carried out, the maximum power load, the heating load for January, was 1,746.43kW and ventilation rate was 5.51 times/hour. Consumption for February was higher than January because of decrease of airflow drawn energy inside the tunnel. As for cooling from July to September, for August as the hottest month, maximum consumed energy required to maintain green house temperature was 2,058.28kW, and demand of airflow rate drawn inside the tunnel was 128.38m[sup 3]/s. 7 refs., 7 figs., 5 tabs.
