Is windpower ready to take off

Abstract

A review is presented of wind power research world-wide. In the USA an $80 mill programme is underway aimed at building a 1 MW prototype electricity generating plant; a 100 kW unit is entering the testing stage at Plumbrook. Developments elsewhere are described.
