Kraftwerk Union A. G. and its service system

Abstract

The organizational structure and the main fields of activities of the Kraftwerk Union A.G.,FRG, were presented at the KWU meeting, Budapest, 1984. KWU which has 14,000 employees and an annual turnover of about 3.4 billion DM, was founded as an affiliate company of Siemens AG and AEG in 1969. 70 fossile-fuel and 16 nuclear power plants have been designed, constructed and commissioned by KWU. The well-organized service system and the service centre at Karlstein contribute significantly to the high availability of the nuclear power plants.
