Visible-band liner polarimetry of the V 1500 Cygni

Abstract

After brightness maximum of the Nova Cygni 1975 the linear broadband polarization measurements of the Nova Cygni have been carried out at Pennsylvania University from the beginning of September to the end of November. Early measurements largely agree with results reported by others, but there is some evidence of variation of the polarization parameters in the ultraviolet after nebular features are reported in the Nova spectrum. It cannot rule out an intrinsic component of polarization.
