Personnel management in electric utilities. Building blocks of an integrated concept of personnel management. Personalmanagement in Energieunternehmen. Bausteine eines integrierten Personalmanagement-Konzeptes

Abstract

The enterprises of the energy industry supplying line-transmitted power are confronted with the task of adapting themselves to changing boundary conditions and scize the chances offered. Characteristic of the changes is, in particular, the introduction of elements of competition as intended by the Commission of the EC. In addition, tasks in eastern Germany must be solved, and timely attention to options in eastern Europe is necessary. All this calls for intensified thinking about the future and, in some sectors of the industry, reorientation. This is the situation that prompted Roland Berger and Partner to prepare a study on the subject of: 'Challenges to the energy industry in the 90s'. In the article, the author presents the results of the study concerning personnel management, subsequently pointing out how the framing of new concepts can be tackled. (orig.).
