Major trends of work of VNIIKRneft in the area of creating and perfecting drilling solutions on a nonaqaueous base

Abstract

Solution on a nonaqueous base (SNB) have good lubricating properties, are resistant to the effect of high temperatures, salt and hydrogen sulfide corrosion. The aqueous component is not filtered out of them into the bed. Carried out at VNIIKRneft were the perfection of recipes and the technology of application of the calcareous-bituminous solutions (CBS) developed at MINKhiGP im. Gubkina and the development of SNB of new types. To stabilize the CBS during drilling of clay rocks we recommend the mineralization of the aqueous component of the CBS by calcium chloride. Developed and incorporated into production is the technology of preliminary processing of a barite weighting compound of surfactants which increase its wetting ability by oil. Great attention is given to the development of methods of regulating structural-rheological properties of SNB by small additives of reagents. This permits a decrease in the formation of excesses of solutions. For CBS such regulators can be products of the interaction of organic acids and amines, particularly the commercially produced emulsifiers emul'tal and ukramine. The most effective agents which decrease viscosity of both nonaqueous and emulsion CBS are products of the low-temperature condensation reaction of polyethylene polyamines and organic acids. As a source of organic acids for synthesis of these products we can use SZhK of the C /sub 17/ fraction and higher, oxidized petrolatum, tall oil, asphalt tars of plant fats. Test results are presented for such additives in drilling boreholes at a depth of 5145 and 5432 m with the use of CBS. A recipe has been developed for a weighting compound of emulsion SNB.}
