Abstract
A characteristic of tourism in Romania is the location of tourist attractions relatively distant from urban areas. Since the energy situation is tight, steps must be taken to conserve available resources. This paper discusses the potential and actual uses of solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and hydroelectric power in the tourist sector of the Romanian economy.
