Abstract

Environmentalists and farmers in Western Australia are opposing the lucrative sand-mining industry, claiming that Australia is enjoying a few of the benefits and most of the costs by agreeing to assume responsibility for tens of thousands of tonnes of radioactive waste likely to emit radiation for several billions of year. ill.
