Abstract

This congress report is divided into 4 allied topics: the first one mainly deals with practicable provision of facilities for handicapped people in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Great Britain. The second and third topic deals with practicable design of public buildings like sports areas and sports halls in 7 countries including one example of solar assisted heating in a sports hall in Japan. The last topic treats design and restoration of outdoor and indoor swimming pools under the aspect of energy conservation (mainly achieved by solar systems for water heating and heat recovery) and used comfort in the Federal Republic of Germany, in Austria and France. Furthermore attention is given to biological and hygienical aspects of natural swimming pools and to E.E.C. regulations.
