Abstract
Due to their uncommon properties shape memory alloys (SMA) were predicted to have a great future. Subsequently, the interest in SMA increased in the eighties. Unfortunately, this evolution was retarded due to the desillusionment of the users. Reasons for the stagnation are pointed out and the actual state of the activities is described by a selection of applications. This article is based on interviews with scientists and producers as well as users working on SMA in Germany. (orig.) [Deutsch] Aufgrund ihrer aussergewoehnlichen Eigenschaften wurde den Formgedaechtnislegierungen (FGL) eine grosse Zukunft vorhergesagt. Dem sprunghaft angestiegenen Interesse in den 80er Jahren folgte eine Ernuechterung bei den Anwendern. Die Gruende fuer die eingetretene Stagnation auf dem FGL-Sektor werden erarbeitet. Der gegenwaertige Zustand der Aktivitaeten wird anhand einer Auswahl aktueller Anwendungen beschrieben. Grundlage dieses Artikels ist eine Befragung von Wissenschaftlern, Verarbeitern und Anwendern in Deutschland. (orig.)
