Abstract
Fifteen papers presented at an international conference held in January 1985 sponsored by the Technical Change Centre, London, are reprinted in this book. Experts from Canada, France, West Germany, Australia, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the USA present essays on national attitudes to technical change. Most papers include short sections on attitudes towards nuclear energy. One paper comparing the public protest against nuclear power in the USA, Britain, France and West Germany, is indexed separately. There are two other volumes which, together with this volume, constitute the Technical Change Centre's final report on the project 'Comparative National Assessments of Public Attitudes to New Technologies'. (U.K.).
