Abstract
A rapid, objective and reproducible TsSC-monocyte radiochemotaxis assay is described. Phagocytic leukocytes were selectively labelled with /sup 99/Tcsup(m)-sulphur colloid, and mononuclear leukocytes (MNL) then isolated. 25 to 35% of these labelled MNL were monocytes. Blind well chemotaxis chambers were used with 5..mu..m polycarbonate filters on top of 8..mu..m cellulose acetate filters. 10% casein-activated serum as chemotactic factor gave the maximum migration. Tests were carried out to demonstrate that the chemotactic response observed was that of the monocyte.
