Abstract

This guide presents methods and procedures that identify wetland values and help to put the full range of wetland values centrally into the planning decision process. The core of the guide is a three-stage evaluation process that provides steps to identify the benefits from a wetland, to establish their value to society, and to compare their value to the value of proposed alternatives. The guide also describes the classes of wetlands and their functions and management.
