Abstract
The papers read at the meeting of the Association of Electrical Engineers (VDE) in May 1982 are intended on the one hand to create awareness of sources of danger and, on the other hand, to demonstrate and discuss how safety can be further enhanced by consistent use of standardization and enlightenment. They are titled as follows: Power accidents in home and spare time; Physiological aspects of accidents; Tasks of the state in consumer protection; Consumer protection through laws and standards; Test institutions and test-marks; Installation technology at home and abroad; Protective measures; Teaching and learning safety; Training for electricians and continuation training.
