Machine for casting and punching grids for lead batteries. Maschine zum Giessen und Stanzen von Gittern fuer Bleiakkumulatoren

Patent:

Abstract

The invention describes a machine, which places the cast parts from a two-part, vertical casting mould onto a transport unit using a lifting device, without any danger of deformation of the not yet hardened grid plates by mechanical loads. The lifting device and rider of the transport unit have guides, in which the plate rests with its grid wings. The transport unit consists of endless chains of variable distance and is also used for cooling, by taking air, for example, as cooling medium through a suitably shaped metal jacket. At the end of the cooling area, the castings are gripped at the bottom by axially controlled pegs pointing towards the inside, and are brought into the horizontal level by a movement of the chains. They are laid on a plate fitted between the chain wheels and are taken by side cams to the punch, from which they are discharged via a further pair of cams on to a belt.
