Study on radiation resistance of electro insulating materials used in high-voltage equipment at Chernobylsk NPP; Issledovanie radiatsionnoj stojkosti ehlektroizolyatsionnykh materialov, primenyaemykh v vytsfsokovol`tnom oborudovanii na Chernobyl`skoj AEhS

Abstract

Investigations into the radiation resistance of the transformer oil and electro insulating cardboard during emergency irradiation at the NPP in 1986 are conducted. It is shown that as a result of transformer oil irradiation it is decomposed with the release of hydrogen, ethane, ethylene, ethane and other gases.
