Abstract
I-R gas turbines (4000-50,000 hp) are designed for applications in the oil and gas production and processing industries. They come as separate mechanical drive units or as complete compressor or pump packages, incorporating gas turbines, drive equipment, accessory equipment, and automatic controls mounted on a rigid base. Packaged units can be transported on their base plates directly to job sites. Weatherproof and acoustic enclosures meet environmental requirements. The turbines can drive process compression units, reciprocating compressor packages, liquid pumping units, and pipeline gas transmission units. Two-shaft turbine design provides broad operational flexibility because the gas generator can be run at its most efficient speed and the power turbines and driven equipment at other speeds to meet application requirements or changing conditions. Both land and marine applications are common. The specific performance of the I-R GT22 gas turbine is described.
