Abstract
Capacitor charge/discharge problem using a resistor is usually considered in college Electromagnetism. Current is an exponential function of time and this dependence continues even when a dielectric is sandwiched by the capacitor. The conditions for the dielectric model that fulfills the exponential law are established showing that this behavior does not exist in solids. (Author) 10 refs.
