Abstract
The document is a report of activity of the Direction of Studies and Research of the France`s Electricity Authority (Electricite de France) on 1997. It contains the following six main sections: 1. development; 2. environment; 3. development and managing of production-transport system; 4. production; 5. international relations; 6. future developments. The second section deals with the air and water quality, reduction of energy network impact on environment and the case of renewable energies. The following section is devoted to the research and development problems raised by the management of production-transport system. The section number four reports about the experience obtained in the operation of N4 stage, particularly, in the conception of REP 2000. Also mentioned are progress in the field of virtual reality used in professional formation, robot intervention in case of leaks in reactor vessel, multi-recycling of plutonium in PWR, etc. The fifth section reports about the international collaboration in the field of superconductivity, superconductor cables, combined cycles with integrated gasification of carbon and biomass and energy programs in Morocco and China. Finally, it is mentioned the launching of the Galaxie-server in charge with the documentation management of EDF 66 figs., 1 tab.
