Abstract
Signal acquisition and analysis problems generally require expensive instruments whose utilization may be optimized through the use of portable signal acquisition modules with signal storage capability. Signals could be registered where they are generated and then analyzed properly in a laboratory far away. A portable acquisition module is developed after studying promising solutions such as direct analog storage, analog-to-digital binary conversion and delta modulation of the collected signals. Since some years ago, a solid state non-volatile analog memory has been commercially available and it was chosen in this portable module design. It also provides low power consumption, turning out to be interesting to signal acquisition and storage applications. This work also presents the portable acquisition module results.
