Abstract
Objective: To explore the correlation of the lymphocyte infiltration in PTC with the clinicopathological character. Methods: 51 papillary thyroid cancer patients undergoing surgery and radioiodine therapy were reviewed in this study. The paraffin-embedded tissues of the patients were selected to confirm the lymphocyte infiltration degree I to III from the least to the mast, and DNA extraction and BRAF mutation analysis were done. The clinic pathological features including: sex, age, TgAb, neck lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, free of disease. χ{sup 2} test was used to analyze the correlation between the lymphocyte infiltration and the clinic pathological features. Results: 51 PTC patients, 24 were observed of lymphocyte infiltration grade I, 12 grade 2 and 15 grade 3. TGAb level was 54.21 ± 96.48, 74.53 ± 153.03, 195.33 ± 182.49 from grade I to III, and that was statistically different among the three group. The BRAF gene status, remission, age, neck lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis were not found correlated with the lymphocyte infiltration state. Conclusions: Papillary thyroid cancer patients with large lymphocyte infiltration were ape to have higher thyroglobulin antibody level. (authors)
