Abstract
A special symposium held at CERN on 28-29 October and the most recent conference in the biannual US BUSCON series, held in Long Beach, California, from 4-6 February, reflected the status of Futurebus+, the most advanced backplane bus standard for physics data handling systems. The standardization of Futurebus+ has made significant new progress.
