Abstract

The process of zinc redistillation in New Jersey-type columns and its theoretical principles, as elaborated by A. Krupkowski, are briefly described. Practical conclusions arising from the mathematical expression of the process, performed on the basis of the above theory, are summarized. A description is given of experiments on the separation of high- and low-boiling-point impurities in zinc and the behaviour of the basic constituent itself under normal working conditions. These experiments were carried out using radioisotopes Cu{sup 64} and Fe{sup 59} (high-boiling-point impurities), Cd{sup 115} (low-boiling-point impurity) and Zn{sup 69m} (basic constituent). The conclusions derived from the experimental data substantiate the theory of zinc redistillation advanced by A. Krupkowski. Moreover these conclusions allow definite propositions to be made concerning some charge in parameters under which the condensation of zinc-cadmium vapours in the cadmium column is performed. Due to this change recovery of cadmium from the charged metal can be increased and the quality of high purity zinc, obtained by redistillation, can be improved. Ils decrivent ensuite les experiences de separation des impuretes a haut point d'ebullition et a bas point d'ebullition auxquelles ils ont procede et indiquent le comportement du constituant de base lui-meme dans des conditions normales. Ces experiences ont ete effectuees a l'aide de {sup 64}Cu et de {sup 59}Fe (impuretes a haut point d'ebullition), de {sup 115}Cd (impuretes a bas point d'ebullition) et de {sup 69m}Zn (constituant de base). Grace a cette modification, on peut augmenter la recuperation de cadmium provenant du metal primitif, et ameliorer la qualite du zinc de grande purete obtenue par redistillation. (author) [Spanish] En la memoria la separacion de impurezas en el proceso de purificacion del cinc se estudia con ayuda de radioisotopos. Se describen brevemente el proceso de redestilacion del cinc en columnas del tipo New Jersey y sus principios teoricos, establecidos por A. Krupkowski. Se resumen las conclusiones practicas que se desprenden de la expresion matematica del proceso, obtenida basandose en la teoria mencio nada. Se describen asimismo los experimentos de separacion de impurezas de alto y bajo punto de ebullicion presentes en el cinc y el comportamiento del propio componente basico en condiciones normales de trabajo. Estos experimentos se llevaron a cabo utilizando los radioisotopos {sup 64}Cu y {sup 59}Fe (impureza de alto punto de ebullicion), used (impureza de bajo punto de ebullicion) y {sup 69m}Zn (componente basico). Las conclusiones extraidas de los datos experimentales corroboran la teoria de la redestilacion del cinc, elaborada por A. KrupkowskL Ademas, estas conclusiones permiten definir las propuestas que cabe formular con respecto a cambios en los parametros con arreglo a los cuales la condensacion de los vapores de cinc-cadmio se efectua en la columna del cadmio. Estos cambios permiten aumentar la recuperacion de cadmio del metal cargado y mejorar la calidad del cinc de alta pureza, obtenido por redestilacion. Privedeny takte prakticheskie vyvody, kotorye javljajutsja rezul'tatom matematicheskogo issledovanija processa rektifikacii s tochki zrenija jetoj teorii. V rabote opisany opyty po issledovaniju processa rektifikacii cinka, v kotoryh byli primeneny radioaktivnye izotopy. Issledovalos' otdelenie primesej, obladajushhih vysokoj i nizkoj temperaturoj kipenija, a takzhe povedenie osnovnoj sostavljajushhej, to-est' cinka, vo vremja normal'noj raboty kolonny. V opytah byli primeneny sledujushhie radioaktivnye izotopy: Cu{sup 64}, Fe{sup 98} (vysokokipjashhie primesi), Cd{sup 115} (primes' s nizkoj temperaturoj kipenija) i Zneem (osnovnaja sostavljajushhaja).
