Abstract
The concept of the safety subsystem of the RF system of cyclotron VINCY is described. By applying the principle of separation of the control and safety functions and the fail-safe concept, an autonomous and reliable safety subsystem has been designed. A combination of the traditional relay technology, often applied in safety systems, and a modern, industrial PC based, acquisition system resulted into a solution meeting all design requirements.
