Gas chromatography of alkylphosphonic and dialkyl phosphinic acids; Cromatografia en fase gaseosa de acidos alquifosfonicos y dialquilfosinicos

Abstract

After carrying out an optimization study on the separation conditions for the TMSr- derivatives, of the hexyl-, cyclohexyl-, heptyl-, and octyl-phosphonic acids; dihexyl dicyclohexyl-, heptyl-, and octyl-phosphinic acids, and dioctyl phosphine oxide, their retention indices (I) at two temperatures and on the OV-1 and OV-17 stationary phase were determined. Correlations between I and molecular structure were established. Calibration factors of these compounds in the flame ionization detector were studied, and the results analyzed taking into account the variables affecting the quantitative results, These results were unbiased but they had a lower precision than that usually achievable in gas chromatography.
