Stability of tubular plasma; Stabilite des plasmas tubulaires

Abstract

The Triax and the inverse pinch configuration are, in the magnetohydrodynamic approximation, interesting from the point of view of stability. These discharges are studied with the help of now well-established theories; the method of modes, the energy variation principal and Suydam's criterion. A comparison is made with the experimental results.
