QS-Heat pumps: quality assurance for small heat pumps using standardised methods and field measurements; QS-WP: Qualitaets-Pruefung von Klein-Waermepumpen mittels Norm- und Feldmessungen. Teilprojekt Effizienzsteigerung. Norm- und Feldmonitoring. Bestanlagen

Abstract

This yearly report for 2005 for the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) reports on the activities of the Heat Pump Test Centre in Buchs, Switzerland, in the area of standardised testing to EN 14511 standards of heat pumps with heating capacities up to 60 kW. Also, the newly introduced tests on heat-pump boilers according to EN 255-3 are discussed. Various trends noted are discussed, including negative trends in the coefficient of performance of heat pumps due to pressure on unit prices. Technologies and refrigerants are commented on. In the field-test areas, a new philosophy was adopted in that so-called 'best-installations' with as high an efficiency as possible are now being monitored. This is being done in order to demonstrate to home-owners and architects just what can be achieved with today's installations.
