Abstract

This report describes the activities of the Department for construction materials in Saclay visited by the author. This department deals with both irradiated and unirradiated materials, namely Zirconium, stainless steels, Beryllium which are used for fabrication of fuel element claddings and tubes to be used under reactor conditions. Mechanical properties of these materials are performed by applying different experimental techniques.
