Abstract

This report outlines the general philosophy of radiation control in French reactors and their annexes. The supervision is carried out continuously from a central control panel on which appear all the measurements made and the alarm signals. The equipment is described; one item makes it possible to measure simultaneously the radioactive dusts and gases. The specifications of the alarm system, which is considered to be the most important are given. Finally a new measuring technique is proposed which makes it possible to reduce considerably the cost of radiation control while at the same time providing the results in a form in which they can be easily treated, in particular in the case of the calculation of total doses.
