Some notes concerning the fourier transformation of auto-correlation functions; Quelques notes sur la transformee de fourier des fonctions d'autocorrelation

Abstract

A study is made of the passage of the auto-correlation function to the frequency spectrum by a numerical Fourier transformation. Two principal characteristics of auto-correlation functions, the time between two points and the total time, are related to two oscillations which appear in the frequency spectrum and which deform it. Various methods are proposed for reducing the effect of these two parasitic oscillations and for re-obtaining the real spectrum. (auteurs)
