Abstract
The stability results obtained on Mest have been extended on a machine ten times more powerful: EppE. A plasma stable during its whole confinement time has been observed. This confinement time seems to be limited by the resistive diffusion of the magnetic fields through the plasma. The main characteristics of this plasma are: Time of confinement: 200 {mu}s; T{sub e} {approx} T{sub i}: 40 eV; {beta} = 8*{pi}*k*T*n{sub e}/B{sup 2}: 8%; n{sub e}: 2.5*10{sup 15}/cm{sup 3}.
