New solutions for reducing shocks and vibrations in the technological systems and equipment associated with the heavy water production plant; Solutii noi de reducere a socurilor si vibratiilor in sistemele tehnologice si echipamentele aferente uzinei de producere a apei grele si a centralei termoelectrice

Abstract

The shocks and vibrations occurring in operation of complex technological installations such as those in heavy water production plant or thermal power plants are generated in principle by mis equilibration of rotative parts; offset coupling of the motor and load shafts, turbulences in the fluid flow through duct network; starting and stopping of some installations, etc. These shocks and vibrations affect the operation of the systems and components of technological installations, entail a gradual degradation of the building structure, generate waves and harmful noises. The solutions for reducing the intensity of the shocks and vibrations or annihilate them at all depends essentially on the particular source of such effects. Generally the frequency range is rather high and their amplitudes are low, so their quenching poses difficult problems. As in most cases the elimination of source is not feasible the only solution is attenuation by special means of isolation of the vibration source as well by isolating the vibration-sensitive equipment and systems from the environmental noxious effects. The paper presents the results of the works carried out at CITON to reduce the shocks, and vibrations in the technological installations with rotating parts and those generated by fluid flow through technological ducts  More>>

The paper presents the results of the works carried out at CITON to reduce the shocks, and vibrations in the technological installations with rotating parts and those generated by fluid flow through technological ducts with imposed geometries. There were studied various elastic couplings which allow eliminating the vibrations generated by offsetting the motor and load shafts, various elastic dampers absorbing the battering ram shocks, the vibrations produced by turbulences in fluid flows and making the transient regimes more smooth. Also supports for duct networks, allowing thermal dilations and quenching the shocks, vibrations and seismic motions were conceived.}
