Comparison of alpha eigenvalue calculational methods in deep subcritical systems

Abstract

Three codes were developed to compute the alpha eigenvalue using three different methods. It was also analyzed why alpha eigenvalue computation would fail in deep subcritical systems. The computed results indicate that the modified direct computation compared with other methods has the advantage of wide calculational range and high precision. It is an effective method to solve the difficulty of alpha eigenvalue computation in deep subcritical systems. (author)
