Abstract

The ANENT web portal was evaluated according to the following criteria for website content evaluation: authority, design and presentation, scope and objectivity, accuracy and currency. The ANENT website satisfies the criteria of authority; it presents who created the content, and provides information in order that one could determine the credibility of the information found. However, it would help to show when the overall content of the website is last updated, which would indicate that it is continuously being maintained. In connection with Activity 1 on exchange of information and materials for education and training, perhaps is it better if one could view the list of training courses and available training materials per country before downloading it. The data/information for downloading is in the form of zip files; there might be some difficulty in viewing or extracting zip files. It is suggested that a link be provided to the Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) homepage. Exchange of training materials is one of the main activities of the FNCA-HRD subproject; training materials on radiation protection in FNCA member countries are listed in the FNCA-HRD homepage: http://www3.tokai.jaeri.go.jp/nutec/nutec/english.htm. Some other specific comments on the ANENT website include the integration of a secured site for interactive document posting system, and a comprehensive database system for data storage of list of experts, nuclear technology education materials, course curricula, making these information readily available. To facilitate communication between ANENT members, it is suggested to have an interactive Bulletin Board system or a Discussion Forum system, for the continuous flow of communication and exchange of ideas between ANENT members.}
