Abstract
New vanadium oxide nanotubes (NTs) intercalated with pyrocatechol (PC) or hydroquinone (HQ) radicals VO{sub 2.35}(C{sub 6}H{sub 4}){sub y} , where y = 0.35 or 0.11, respectively, are synthesized. The hydrothermal process is carried out at 150-180 deg C for 30-50 h using V{sub 2}O{sub 5} {center_dot} nH{sub 2}O/PC(HQ) composites. The tubes have outer diameters of 40-110 nm and are no longer than 1 {mu}m. The X-ray photoelectron spectra, electrical conductivity, and thermal properties of NT powders are studied.
