Abstract
Nanotubes (NTs) of complex vanadium molybdenum oxide V{sub 0.78}Mo{sub 0.22}O{sub 2.49}(C{sub 2}H{sub 3}){sub 0.46} are prepared from the (V{sub 1.67}Mo{sub 0.33}O{sub 16} {center_dot} nH{sub 2}O gel/PVA) composite (PVA stands for poly(vinyl alcohol)) by hydrothermal treatment for 30-50 h at 150-180 deg C. The outer tube diameters are 10-20 and 70-80 nm; the tube lengths are no longer than 1 {mu}m. The X-ray photoelectron and IR spectra, electrical conductivity, and thermal properties of the NTs are studied.
