Abstract
Sorption of {sup 131}I{sup -}, {sup 131}IO{sub 3}{sup -} and F{sup -} ions on various samples of hydoxyapatite (HAP) from aqueous solutions was studied. HAP samples do not sorb ionic species of radioactive iodine from aqueous solutions. As for rF{sup -}, the best sorption properties are exhibited by HAP sample prepared from calcium chloride, sodium orthophosphate and hydroxide. The degree of recovery of fluoride ion with HAP precipitate in 5 min, 4 h and 5 days of contact between solid and liquid phases is {approx}54, {approx}66 and >95 % of the initial F{sup -} amount, respectively.
