Abstract
Performance tests of fume hoods in nuclear medicine laboratories in Metro Manila were conducted. Initial results showed that almost all of the facilities tested did not attain the face velocity and room air changes per hour suggested in the PNRI bulletin 89-3 ''Use of Fume Hood in Nuclear Medicine Facilities''. None of the facilities, however were found to have caused airborne contamination above the IAEA recommended derived air concentration value of 700 Bq/m{sup 3} for I-131. (Authors)
